THE ARTIST:

T.M.Gand first shared her powerful, educational, and moving testimony about her experience with mental illness and trauma at Mental Health America of Abilene’s 2018 Mental Health Symposium “Legislative Initiatives, Ethical Considerations, and Women’s Mental Health." She also shared how “Art Saved My Life” as keynote speaker at MHAA’s 2nd Annual Art Gala and Fundraiser in June 2019.

As a mental health advocate, T.M.Gand has trained over 600 people in the Abilene area in Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid since 2014. She is passionate about advocating for increased awareness about emotional wellness as well as investing in the de-stigmatization of seeking help. She has been transparent about her own struggles with emotional wellness issues, where they began, how those issues manifested, and what she has been able to accomplish in spite of those challenges.

A contemporary artist, living in Abilene, Texas, T.M.Gand specializes in the use of texture, color, collage, and layering affects. She loves treasure hunting between collage layers to find bits that need saving and enhancing.

Originally from Wisconsin and a student of structural engineering, Tracy moved to Texas when she married her Air Force sweetheart, Marcus. They have three beloved cats and share a cute little house together.

T.M.Gand enjoys a 660 square foot studio in the downtown historic district of Abilene, Texas, in the Cockerell Building, 1133 N.2nd Street, Studios, Studios 207-208.Her studio is open to the public the second Thursday of each month for Artwalk in downtown Abilene. THE RULES:

  • You can buy as many "tickets" as you would like. Each ticket bought will be made into a physical ticket for the raffle drawing on July 11, 2019 at 10 p.m. (CST)
  • Tickets can be purchased here online through 9 p.m. CST on July 11, 2019.
  • Tickets can be purchased in person at the Cockerell Galleries and Studios Upstairs located at 1133 N. 2nd Street, Abilene, Texas until 9 p.m. from T.M.Gand's art studio or the room next to hers where the MHAA Artist Exhibit and Reception (open to the public) will be held.
  • You do not have to be present to win.
  • If you win, you will need to arrange to have the framed print picked up by July 30, 2019.
  • All tickets bought during the June 21, 2019 Art Gala for this raffle will be included in the drawing.
